Dark Horse Equine proudly sponsors select competitors and their equine counterparts. From high school rodeo members to PRCA and WPRA athletes, we have selected elite team members to represent Dark Horse Equine in and out of the arena. All our sponsored team members represent a true western heritage and are among the elite in horsemanship, competition, equine maintenance and care, and most importantly show excellence in and out of the arena.
Sami Jo Sweeney a 3X MSCF Qualifier, 7X CPRA Finals Qualifier, 12X WRA Finals Qualifier, All American Qualifier, with many more titles and qualifications. From a young girl Sami Jo has always perused a career with horses. Sami Jo has made a professional career maintaining horses balance and performance, training horses, riders, and competing professionally in rodeo. Sami Jo has a passion for her equine athletes and career with horses. Her success with horses is followed with many professional titles, accomplishments, and winning horses.
Because of Sami Jo's equine therapy education, Sami Jo's training program highly benefits, as all the horses are maintained healthy and competition fit.
Traveling and competing as a professional barrel racer is a really tough and competitive sport. Sami Jo and her team have many sponsors and companies that help her keep her, her horses, and her team traveling and competing at their best.

PRCA, CPRA, WRA Professional Cowboy-Brady Buum
Brady Buum grew up rodeo. Both his parents were successful rodeo contestants from a young age, through intercollegiate rodeo, and on to professional rodeo. Brady's dad Bradley Buum was a CPRA State Steer Wrestling Champion, former bull rider, and his mom Lorena was a very successful barrel racer. Rodeo is no new lifestyle to the Buum family, you could say it is in their blood. Brady is now a business owner, therapeutic farrier, and professional cowboy himself. Brady followed his heritage and competed in rodeo through high school, college, and now on the professional level. He has multiple Finals qualifications and rodeo titles notched in his belt and continues to add to the list of accomplishments.
DB Performance Horses, a Christian family owned operation, has over 30 years’ experience raising, training, and exhibiting performance horses. DB Performance Horses was founded by Teresa & Rick Dudden, who together raised their daughter Chelsea into the family industry, where she brought on her husband, Justin Brassington, and they are now raising their two ambitious boys into it as well. The program was built on hard work, dedication, and integrity. Teresa, a WPRA, CPRA, and BBR member, has performance titles from Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, and Barrel Racing. Her two main mounts are I’m No Smoke N Joke & Absolutely A Guy, both of which Teresa has trained to become outstanding barrel horses. Rick was a Bull Fighter and Bull Rider and now is the backbone of the family. He is an amazing carpenter that builds furniture for the family business, 3D Western Designs. Chelsea followed her mom’s footsteps as an All-Around Cowgirl and is also a WPRA, CPRA, and BBR member. The two she keeps in her trailer are DB Doc’s Blazin for Cash & Mister Disco Music, both who are progenies of the DB Performance Horse Program and trained by Chelsea herself. Justin is a member of CMSA, and competes on Paige of Titan & Quaken Doc O Lena. Geronimo, (Paige of Titan) was a kill pen rescue as a barrel racing reject, and Justin has done an amazing job recovering him and training him to shoot. The program is based off breeding the best mares to outstanding studs, and training these quality horses from the ground work all the way to competition levels. DB Performance Horses has a quality program from weanlings, to broodmares, ending with retired performance horses who now live their remaining days on green grass and in luxury. We look forward to watching the DB Performance Horse Team Rock it this year!
